From Jared Morrison, Director of Performing Arts-

Congratulations to Kari Novilla, whose exceptional talent and dedication to musical diversity have earned her an Individual Artist Fellowship in Music Performance from the Tennessee Arts Commission. A graduate with honors from Indiana University and the Royal Academy of Music in London, Novilla is a trailblazer in the harp world, pushing boundaries and expanding perceptions of the instrument.

Her artistic vision is rooted in showcasing the versatility of the harp across genres, from jazz and pop to classical and folk. As she puts it, “The harp is so much more than its history; it is incredibly versatile and should not be defined to just one genre.”

She is also committed to reaching underserved audiences, reflected through charity concerts and educational programs given worldwide. Through these performances in hospices, shelters, and schools, Novilla aims to create environments that foster unity and creativity, enriching communities through music.

Her journey as a multi-genre artist not only challenges norms but also inspires others to explore their artistic voices through music, and this fellowship will help Novilla continue her mission of promoting the harp’s inspirational power throughout Tennessee.
