From Tennessee Department of Health –

Tennessee’s four most urban counties are eligible for a new funding opportunity for community planning funded through the CDC’s Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) Grant. The Tennessee Department of Health’s new Healthy Built Environments REACH Planning grants offer up to $50,000 for planning projects that promote health equity in Davidson, Shelby, Knox, and Hamilton counties. Local and state government entities, American Indian tribes, and non-profit organizations are eligible to apply.

Projects must involve meaningful community engagement, serve a predominantly racial or ethnic minority community, and include a strong focus on improving community health. Example projects could include complete streets plans, parks plans, arts or placemaking plans, Vision Zero plans, or other built environment plans that address health disparities through community engagement.

This is a new grant opportunity and does not replace the Healthy Built Environments grants awarded by the Tennessee Department of Health, which will offer a new round of funding in early 2025 for both planning and construction projects in all 95 Tennessee counties.
