Nelda Pope of Murfreesboro, Tennessee was an avid supporter of the arts and an artist herself. Well-known for her contributions to local theater and music, Pope has appeared in 49 amateur and professional productions throughout Middle Tennessee. She, along with her husband George, played a key part in the founding of Murfreesboro’s Center for the Arts.
Pope’s other community involvements include being a member and past president of the Middle Tennessee Choral Society, Stones River Garden Club and the Frances Bohannon Music Club, as well as a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and the Woman’s Club.
